I always told my daughters that you will make mistakes. Some big and some small, were human. When you do mess up, you apologize to who you need to, learn from it what you can and drop the rest. Don’t entertain regrets, because they will weigh you down and stop you from moving forward. And each ones first question was ‘what if they don’t forgive me?’ I said ‘it doesn’t matter if they forgive you, that’s their business and not why you’re apologizing. You apologize because you were wrong and hurt their feelings, period. Whether they forgive you is their choice to make and isn’t your business, because forgiving you is for them not you.’
